Chillers for Cooling Applications
Temperature Corporation manufactures
hvac chillers that offer cooling and air conditioning for industrial
and commercial applications. Our hvac chillers use water, oils or other
fluids as refrigerants. They typically include a compressor, condenser,
thermal expansion valve, evaporator, reservoir, and stabilization assembly.
The compressor compresses the refrigerant creating a high pressure, superheated
gas that the condenser cools to a warm liquid. The thermal expansion valve
(TXV) releases the refrigerant into the evaporator, converting the warm
liquid to a cool, dry gas. In our systems, a hot gas bypass is used to
stabilize the cooling output by allowing the hot gas to warm up the evaporator.
This causes a reduction in cooling efficiency, but stabilizes the chilled
water temperatures. When water is pumped from the reservoir to the compressor,
the chilling cycle begins again.
Our hvac chillers offer three condenser cooling methods, different cooling
specifications and process pump specifications depending on the application
requirements. There are three popular condenser cooling methods.
Air cooled chillers use a fan to force air over the condenser coils,
while water cooled chillers fill the condenser coils with circulating
water. Remote air cooled condenser chillers locate the main part of the
chiller in the application area and position the condenser remotely, usually
outdoors. We also offer modular chillers which can be configured in different
ways based on application requirements. In air conditioning systems, for
example, our hvac chillers can be used to pump water to coils in different
parts of a building or industrial plant.
